Dining Out: Fu Man Dumpling House

Dining Out: Fu Man Dumpling House, Seattle WA

Head up north for some great Chinese food featuring homemade dumplings.

Fu Man Dumpling House is a very small restaurant located at the north end of Greenwood Ave.  It's in a tiny strip mall with parking in the front, rear and street.  There are only 7 tables, so during peak dining times expect to wait.

Obviously, you have to order dumplings.  They are filled with pork and vegetables - delicious and oh so good no matter how you order them.  Get them steamed, or our favorite in their hot and sour soup.  The bigger panfried version is hearty and tasty with the golden brown exterior (aka potstickers).

The magic here: their garlic sauce.  This table condiment goes well with your dumplings - but beware.  There is enough galic in here to ward off a vampire and no amount of altoids will help rid yourself of garlic breath.  This sauce is addicting.  It's delicious.  It's so garlicy.

The menu is small, offering you typical Chinese dishes like fried rice, chow mein and a few stir fried dishes.  Our go-to are always the dumplings and their green onion pancake.

Tip:  If you love the dumplings, take them home frozen.  They sell their cook at home dumplings frozen in bags of 50.  You must call ahead (24 hours) to reserve them.
